These two YouTube videos feature two parts of the first episode of "The Civil War: A Film By Ken Burns". It shows how weapons, especially the musket, were changed to me even more deadly than they already were. A main change in the weapons were the ammunition used. They made a faster and deadlier bullet known as the Minié Ball, which could shoot longer distances at a faster rate, killing a person in seconds. This changed everything in the Civil War, and would be a big part on why so many (more than half a million) people died in the Civil War.
Another change that is discussed in this video is how more women were present in the war. They did many things in the war including medicine, but they also fought in the war. Many women dressed as men and were spies to gain information from the enemy side. They also did things like cooking, sewing, and raising money for the cause.
